Orthodontics is an area of dentistry concerned with the teeth, face and jaw. More specifically, it is related to the alignment of these three facets for maximum comfort whilst eating or in general life. For instance, if you can bite your teeth together correctly, you can eat more comfortably and it is much easier to care for your teeth and gums. In addition, you will have a noticeably straighter smile and often whiter teeth.

You may require orthodontic consultation if you have crooked teeth, protruding upper front teeth, crowding of teeth, a deep bite, reverse bite or open bite (where your teeth do not line up correctly and are aesthetically asymmetrical or uncomfortable), amongst others.

Treatments in this area are well known – a removable brace, fixed brace or functional appliances are often used to treat patients with these types of experiences in order to help improve oral hygiene and self-confidence.
